Pathway overview
For entrepreneurs with a qualifying business, a letter of support from a designated organization, and enough money to settle, to become Canadian permanent residents.
IMPORTANT — verified directly from IRCC's own eligibility page: the Start-Up Visa Program was paused on June 30, 2026 and is not currently accepting new applications (IRCC continues to process applications accepted before that date). Requirements when the program is open, for reference: a qualifying business (each applicant holds 10%+ voting rights; applicants + the designated organization together hold 50%+), a letter of support from a designated organization, Canadian Language Benchmark 5 in all four abilities, and proof of funds (CAD 15,263 for one person, more for larger families, updated July 29, 2025). Only language and funds are encoded as rules here.
