Pathway overview
A 1-year job-seeker residence permit, scored on a 6-point grid covering qualification, experience, language, and age.
Verified directly from make-it-in-germany.com's own Job Search Opportunity Card page, cross-referenced against multiple independent 2026-update sources: you must score at least 6 points on the Opportunity Card's grid (partial qualification recognition, professional experience, German/English language level, age under 35, shortage-occupation designation, and other factors), meet a baseline of German A1 or English B2, and show at least €13,092/year (2026) in funds. A fully-recognized university degree or vocational qualification separately qualifies you without needing 6 points at all — this tool checks the points-grid route, not that direct-qualification alternative. Once issued, you can work part-time up to 20 hours/week and take trial employment while job-seeking, for up to 12 months.
