Verified directly from make-it-in-germany.com: you need a binding intra-corporate transfer agreement with your employer (covering managers, specialists, or trainees — the German branch must belong to the same company or group as your current employer), continuous employment with the transferring company for at least 6 months immediately before the transfer, and health insurance of at least €30,000 coverage including repatriation. Managers and specialists can stay up to 3 years; trainees up to 1 year.
