Pathway overview
For young people aged 18-25 to live with a Dutch host family and take part in cultural exchange.
Verified directly from ind.nl: you must be aged 18 to 25 (confirmed directly — some aggregator sources incorrectly cite a wider 18-31 range), have a qualifying host family (2 or more members, Dutch nationality or a valid Dutch residence permit, not a family relation, and you must not have worked for them before), and not have previously held a Dutch residence permit for an exchange purpose. Only a recognised au pair agency can apply for this permit on your behalf. Limited to light housekeeping tasks, no more than 8 hours a day and 30 hours a week, with at least 2 days off each week. Valid for a maximum of 1 year.
